Ben Hogan Caps Remarkable Comeback From Auto Injury To Win U.S. Open -This Day 1950

On this day in 1950 Ben Hogan capped his remarkable comeback from a devastating car accident to win his second consecutive U.S. Open golf championship. Hogan was injured so badly in an auto accident in February 1949 that doctors had thought he would never walk again. They didn’t know Ben Hogan. If they got all the great golfers in their prime and played a tournament my money would be on Hogan to come away as the champion.
