SS Chief Heinrich Himmler Commits Suicide-This Day 1945

On this day in 1945 Heinrich Himmler the chief of the SS and assistant chief of the Gestapo and architect of the Nazis’ extermination of German Jews, swallows cyanide to commit suicide in a Luneberg, Germany prison one day after his capture. Its too bad he didn’t have a long and suffering demise. Just sayin’.
