On this day in 1970 Beatle Paul McCartney announced that he was leaving The Beatles for personal and professional reasons. I am a Beatle fanatic. I am probably among the minority of Beatles fans but I think it was a stroke of genius for The Beatles to break up when they did. All you have to do is watch the documentary “Let It Be” to see that the gig was up. The individual Beatles were moving in different directions and I am glad they had enough sense to call it quits before things went bad.
