Babe Ruth

On this day in 1927 the New York Yankees signed their superstar- THE SUPERSTAR- Babe Ruth to a new 3 year contract for $210,000. He was by far the highest paid player of his day. When told once that he made more money than the president, Ruth replied “Well I had a better year.”  Ruth wasn’t one of those players you gave a big contract to then he took the year off- in 1927 that was the year Ruth hit his 60 home runs. The Babe-the greatest player in baseball history.
