The great Johnny Cash was born 81 years ago today. An American legend, no question about that. He had an interesting life and career. I really enjoyed the resurrection of Johnny Cash the last decade of his life on American Recordings. His big comeback artistically. One of my favourite songs of Johnny’s during this period was his cover of Trent Rezner’s “Hurt.” The Nine Inch Nails “Hurt” was great but Johnny Cash stole this song and made it his own. A very moving performance by one of the great American icons of the 20th century. There will never be another Johnny Cash.
