Jerry Kramer- Former Green Bay Packers Guard- Best Player NOT In Pro Football Hall Of Fame 77 Today

#64 Jerry Kramer turns 77 today. Jerry Kramer was first team All-Pro 5 times in his 11 years with the Green Bay Packers. He was named to the All-50th NFL Anniversary team. He is considered by many the greatest player who is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is a mystery to me. Every year they put a couple of the old players into the Hall of Famer. Players who played Kramer’s position who were not as good as Kramer have gotten in. Kramer continues to be ignored. No doubt the year after he dies they will put him in.

Jerry Kramer was a key member of 5 Green Bay Packers championship teams. He threw the most famous block in NFL history-the one in which Bart Starr scored against the Dallas Cowboys in the Ice Bowl in 1967. Jerry Kramer also wrote a classic book about the 1967 season {Vince Lombardi’s final season as head coach of the Packers} “Instant Replay” is one of the first adult books I can remember reading. During Kramer’s 11 year career he underwent 22 surgeries. The NFL Network agrees with me- they have Jerry Kramer listed #1 on their Top 10 Players not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
