Marvin Miller Baseball Revolutionary Dies At 95

Marvin Miller

Marvin Miller changed the game of baseball. He would be among the Mt. Rushmore of baseball figures. He never threw a pitch or swung a bat. Marvin Miller was the executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association from 1966 until 1982. I am not the first to say this but Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Marvin Miller are the most important men in baseball history. He changed everything. When he took over in 1966 players had no free agency. The minimum salary was $6000 a year. Over the years things changed. Of course Marvin Miller was playing an unfair hand. He was brilliant and baseball owners/commissioners are usually about on par with the Dodo bird when it comes to intelligence.

Marvin Miller has been passed over again and again when it comes to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Of course now that he dies I expect that he will go in during the next couple years. Below I am attaching an article on the life and legacy of Marvin Miller.
