The White House Officially Becomes The White House- This Day 1901

On this day in 1901 POTUS Theodore Roosevelt officially renamed the “Executive Mansion” the White House. The only president who never actually lived in the White House was George Washington, the building wasn’t completed until the 2nd POTUS John Adams was in office. The architect of the White House was James Hoban. The White House has six floors and the White House and the grounds around it cover 18 acres.
