Colonel Sanders was born on this day in 1890. He was a famous restaurateur who found the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise. He died at the age of 90 in 1980 but his likeness still appears on boxes of Kentucky Fried Chicken to this day.

Sanders started his business in Corbin, Kentucky in 1930. He sold it for $2 million dollars in 1964. He wasn’t a real Colonel, he was a Kentucky Colonel.
