Anthony Kennedy the Associate Judge on the Supreme Court who in recent years since the retirement of Sandra Day O’Connor has been the swing vote in a number of 5-4 decisions on the court-turns 76 today. One way to live forever I believe is to be on the Supreme Court, Justices on the Supreme  Court seem to live long lives.

Anthony Kennedy was appointed  to the Supreme Court by President Ronaldus Magnus in 1988. Lewis Powell [who lived to be 90-retired} The brilliant Robert Bork was President Ronaldus Magnus’s first choice but he was ‘borked’ by the Democrat Senate led by Ted “If he had known how to drive better he would have been POTUS” Kennedy. The second choice Douglas Ginsburg withdrew his name from nomination when his marijuana use became known. Kennedy was the third choice for the job. He passed the Senate with a 97-0 vote. He hasn’t been the Supreme Court Justice that the conservatives had hoped for. Sometimes you never know what you are getting. They have the job for live. Kennedy swings both ways. Recently it was widely believed that he would be the swing vote on the ObamaCare–but it turned out he voted with the conservative block and John Roberts was the swing vote.
