Some of the things Reggie says is correct especially about A-Rod and Barry Bonds. I don’t understand why he throws the other Hall of Famers under the bus though. Reggie has always been a complicated man. Reggie could be a real jerk from all accounts. Years ago I sat and talked to a New York City sportswriter who covered the Mets during a ballgame and I asked him a million questions. One I asked him was about Reggie. He said if you were a big time network guy or from a major newspaper Reggie would treat you like gold. If you were someonefrom a smaller paper- someone who couldn’t help him he treated you like dirt. I wasn’t shocked by that. Reggie-Billy Martin and George S. Steinbrenner all deserved each other. Reggie was exciting to watch though. You’d never make a run to the concession stand when Reggie came to the plate. His striking out was more exciting than most players hitting a home run.
There were those who thought Reggie shouldn’t have been voted into the Hall of Fame because of his battling average .262 lifetime.
