Great Western Vacation- Day 6 Bighorn National Forest- Shell Falls

After leaving Little Big Horn National Battlefield we headed south into Wyoming. Even before we got to Little Big Horn Battlefield off in the far distance you could see mountains with snow on top of them. We kept driving and driving and driving and a couple hours later we finally reached those mountains in Wyoming. Our destination for the night was Cody, Wyoming-but to get there you had to cross the Bighorn Mountains and the Bighorn National Forest. On our entire trip this is the only time we were going up in elevation and were really aware of it. Bighorn National Forest was really beautiful. You got some really great views and it seemed very odd to be standing beside a snowbank in the middle of June. The highlight though I thought was Shell Falls. The falls are 120 feet in height and the water sure was rolling over the falls.
