AS June ends Pirates 7 games over .500/Lumber Company

The Pirates continue their great play. They are now 7 above .500 and to me they look for real in the weak NL Central. The hitless wonders of April and May- in the month of June have outscored all the other 29 teams in Major League Baseball. Back in the 1970’s when the Pirates had great hitting teams they called them “The Lumber Company” I really don’t expect them to keep scoring like this but I don’t think they will go back to the worst scoring team in baseball either. They could be tied for first place depending on what the Reds do today.

The Pirates have won 22 of their last 33 games. For a team that has 19 losing seasons in a row…well this is the best baseball they’ve played since 1992!!
