It was 8 years ago today that Ronald Reagan aka Ronaldus Maximus- “The Great Liberator”- the 40th President of the United States died at age 93. His standing in history has only risen since he left office. The Republican Party for the past 20 years have been trying to find a “New Reagan” evenually they will realize this will never happen. There will be only one Reagan.
In the early 1980’s when Reagan started talking about the end of the Soviet Union no one took him seriously. This wasn’t something that was going to happen. Reagan believed though and without firing a shot he played a major role in bringing down the Soviet Union. When asked once what his policy towards the Soviets was he replied ” It’s simple, we win, they lose”.
One of Reagan’s greatest moments- June 12, 1987 at the Brandenburg Gate in West Berlin. “Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall” 2 1/2 years an unbelievable thing happened. They tore down that wall.
