This is a joke. Who was it that started all this- retiring with a team that without playing? Means nothing.
Kordell set the Steelers back for years. Cowher seemed to be in love with him. He did have a couple good years-they weren’t together though. He was one of those quarterbacks who never seemed to learn. As a veteran he still made rookie mistakes like throwing into triple coverage. He was also a poor leader. After poor games he had a habit of throwing his teammates under the bus with him instead of taking the blame. I recall back in the 70’s Terry Bradshaw having a great game but the Steelers lost by a few points. After the game Bradshaw took the blame for the loss saying “If I would have hit Swann on that one pass he was open….” You need a leader at the QB position. He doesn’t necessarily have to be really vocal. Sometimes he can lead with his actions. Kordell was a loser. Kordell also became one of the most disliked Steelers or Pittsburgh athletes I can remember. You still see kids wearing Kordell #10 jersey’s around today. They are too young to know. No one who was there…would be caught dead wearing one.
