Well instead of being a #1 hit from a movie soundtrack- we have one from a television show. This would be the last instrumental to go to #1 – until 2013 when ‘Harlem Shake’ by Baauer went to the top. This was Jan Hammer’s only hit. Hammer was born in 1948 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Never cared for Miami Vice- style over substance.
I remember both the show and soundtrack well. I had the soundtrack via cassette tape. However, I bought it because of the song, “Smuggler’s Blues” by Glenn Frye! Now that was an awesome song! Thank you for posting and taking me back to much better times! 🙂
