Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘Lovely Rita’- Fats Domino. A Paul McCartney song from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band- it doesn’t have all that many covers. I would say-that while I like the song I would rank it the least song on Sgt. Pepper. Here is Fats Domino’s cover.

He did a good job on this lesser Beatle song. I like this one also and Good Morning Good Morning off of Sgt Pepper…not my favorite Beatle songs by any means but I always liked them.
Fats has such a great way of singing. It took a minute to adjust to the slower tempo but other than that he does good things with Lovely Rita.
Not a tune I would have expected Fats Domino to cover. Not bad though. I also agree it’s certainly not a top-tier Beatles song.
