The first new #1 hit of 1985- ‘Like A Virgin’ which was #1 the final two weeks of 1984- and the first month of 1985. Eventually there would be 26 different #1’s in the year. I am not much on Foreigner- but this is one of my favorites by them- this and ‘Urgent.’ ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’- was their only #1 hit.
Not a fan either but this was my favorite by them…it is a good song.
Off topic Hans… The Dodgers just signed Pujols…I would assume for a part time player. They must see something they need in him.
if he would accept being a bench player- pinch-hitter he could help them but he seemed pretty egotistical at the end with the Angels for a guy who is a shadow of his former self if those reports that came out are true.
Surely they got that straight before he signed…this way he doesn’t have to move. He will have a little time to play…Pollock just went down and Bellinger is due back in 2-3 weeks now.
I hope he accepts it when his time really goes down…if he does he could be valuable. Friedman must see some advanced stat he offers.
I’ve always liked to have a veteran bat on the bench like that- he was hitting for power in his limited play this year. I agree surely that talked over what his role would be with the Dodgers before he signed.
He could use this time to build up for next year unless he decides to hang them up…and the good part no move for him and his family…plus he has a chance to win it all with them.
interesting he signed with the Dodgers- reportedly the Red Birds had shown some interest..
That is who I thought he would go to… I do think the Dodgers have more of a need right now….at least til everyone gets healed.
Signing Pujols with the e Dodgers sounds similar to the Jags giving Tebow a contract to play TE.
“I Want to Know What Love Is” was played to death on the radio back in Germany. I liked it initially but then got a bit tired of it. I still like some of their older music, such as “Feels Like the First Time”, “Cold As Ice”, “Hot Blooded”, “Head Games” and “Juke Box Hero.” I also like “Urgent.” The “4” album was pretty good overall.
I like a lot of Foreigner’s discography, and this one’s my favorite. Never tired of hearing it.
My favorite song by Foreigner, the way it is sung tears me up every time.
