I have been so slammed at work that I did not realize it was my pick. I am going to go with the Lethal Weapon series of films. All of the films were pretty entertaining, but if I had to choose 2 is the best film, then the original, then the other two. While these are the typical buddy cop type shows, there is an edge to the snark and sarcasm of the humor. When any show is well written, it is usually good, no matter how ridiculous the storyline may seem. The films worked well because most of the people that worked on the first film were still involved with the fourth film – actors, director, production. Apologies for the lamest review yet.
Been a LONG time since seeing any of the Lethal Weapon films but I remember them fondly. I do remember one of my favorite scenes as being when one p.o.s. says, “Diplomatic Immunity” and Glover’s character saying, “It’s just been revoked.” Mel Gibson as the suicidal loose cannon and Danny Glover as the reasonable, stable family man make a great combo on screen.
Sorry to hear you’re getting slammed at work.
Lethal Weapon 2. Joss Ackland. He’s the same guy that played Russian Ambassador Lysenko in The Hunt for Red October where Richard Jordan asks him “You lost another sub?”
Aha! Sounds like Joss is trouble every which way! 😉
He’s had quite the career. He looks very different in his younger years. The B & W on IMDb doesn’t really resemble the older look he had.
Just looked at it. He looks a lot different!
I love these films. I will watch them whenever I channel surf and finish watching them from the beginning, middle, or end.
Me, too.
Hey lady…check out my music post today….I think you might like it
Okie Dokie…
I am SUCH a Richard Donner fan, a Mel Gibson fan…Rene Russo, too. And, there is a Lethal Weapon 5 in the works:

91 years old, pretty impressive. I wonder if Mel and Danny will be in it?
According to this, yes:

We shall see. If they don’t return, I don’t see how Donner could move forward.
Fabulous! 🙂
