Deep Cuts From 1971: ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’- Faces. You may have thought it was a misprint or mistake -Paul McCartney wrote and performed the hit version of ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ but it was also covered the year after the original came out by Faces on their Long Player album from 1971- sung by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Lane.
Love this, Hans. Coincidentally, I was looking at the “Long Player” album yesterday. Once again it demonstrates what a great rock vocalist Rod Stewart used to be. Ronnie Lane does a nice job on vocals as well. Cool rendition of one of McCartney’s best solo songs!
Faces weren’t around long but I really enjoyed their stuff. I agree with you on Rod during this period of time.
This sounds good! I really like how Ronnie Lane opened the song. He sounded good. I just went to wiki to learn more about him and am saddened to see his long battle with MS and passing at such a young age 😦
the album Ronnie Lane did with Pete Townshend- Rough Mix is a great album.
I will look this one up. Thanks for the recommend, Hans.
These guys were good and nailed this cut.
