Under The Covers Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘Yesterday”- Ray Charles. One of Paul McCartney’s greatest ever songs- and certainly the most famous song he’s ever written- ‘Yesterday’ will be one of those songs which will last for centuries. There have been over the years 2200 covers of ‘Yesterday.’ I am going to stray from the norm here. Up until this point I have picked out one cover of each Beatles song- and then moved on. I think I will stay with “Yesterday’- for maybe 5-to 7 days- since there are so many covers of this great song and so many interesting and varied covers. My favorite easily is the Ray Charles cover.
