“Mickey” is one of those catchy pop songs -which quickly becomes annoying. Toni Basil was closing in on 40 when she released her first album [she would only have two albums] and ‘Mickey’ was her only Top 40 hit. She was more of a choreographer, actress, dancer and filmmaker than a singer-musician. She co-directed the iconic video from The Talking Heads- ‘Once In A Lifetime’, she worked with Bowie and Presley. She appeared in the movie Easy Rider. This was one of those ‘one hit wonders’ where at the very moment it was a hit you knew that would be it.
OMG this song is so annoying to me hahaha But iconic?
I loved that song back in the day. 🙂
I don’t’ know if “hatred” is a strong enough word…no that word doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Earworm!
