Deep Cuts From 1971: ‘Debris”- The Faces. The Faces were formed in England by former Small Faces members Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, and Kenny Jones with former Jeff Beck Group members -Rod Stewart and future Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood. They had two Top 40 hits- [I Know] I’m Losing You #24 and “Stay With Me” #17. Their history was short- four albums from 1970-73. They released two of their albums in 1971- Long Player and A Nod Is As Good As A Wink- which included one of my favorite Faces songs- Ronnie Lane’s “Debris” a tribute to his East End London roots. “Debris” was the b-side of ‘Stay With Me.” I will also throw this out there one of my favorite box sets is 2004’s The Faces- Five Guys Walk Into A Bar..
New song for me. Good b-side to Stay with Me.
I always liked to hear Ronnie sing….but when you have Stewart…that won’t happen a lot. Good song.
Cool tune. You can rarely go wrong with the Faces. Interesting to hear Ronnie Wood on vocals, though it’s hard to beat Rod Stewart.
An all-time CB fave. I love everything RL did.
