‘Ring My Bell” was originally written for 11 year old Stacy Lattisaw- as a song about teenagers talking on the telephone. When Lattisaw signed with a different record label- Anita Ward was asked to sing the song instead- and it became her only hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Ward’s career would soon fade as quickly as disco did.
One of my least-favorite songs of the 1970s. Though I loved disco, never could stand this one. Her chirpy vocals are like nails on chalkboard to my ears.
Hans this should have been on your list yesterday 😉
