- DAVID BOWIE: YOUNG AMERICANS: 1975: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: IPOD: PHILLY SOUL: David Bowie was a busy man from the start of his career and throughout the 70’s- this was his 9th studio album and as always David Bowie kept changing- this album influenced by the popular Philly Soul sound of that time. “Young Americans” and “Fame” were big hits and two of his most famous songs- “Fame” going to #1. Others on the Mount Rushmore- “Fascination” and “Win.”
A very young Luther Vandross sang backup on that album … as did John Lennon. This is one of my favorites.
Luther I believe co-wrote one of the songs.
You know this is one I like. Glad you ranked “Win” up there 🙂
