The Beatles Top 60 Solo Songs: #45: “Nobody Told Me”- John Lennon. “Nobody Told Me” was an unfinished track that John Lennon was working on around the time of his assassination. It was later finished by Yoko Ono and released on the posthumous album Milk And Honey in 1984. It was originally a song that John had written for Ringo Starr but after the assassination Ringo decided not to do it on his Stop And Smell The Roses album. As a single it went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The line about the U.F.O. – Lennon claimed to have seen a U.F.O. in 1974- May Pang, Lennon’s lover during his ‘lost weekend” period [of a year and a half} claims that John said “come back-take me”- upon seeing the U.F.O. Yoko Ono called the track “kind of a fun song.” She told Uncut in 1998: “I think that especially around that time he felt that again, the world had lost its course, its direction. I really think that it’s to do with, not confusion but starting to learn that life is always gonna be a mystery.”
❤ ❤ ❤ great song great video
There are some good tunes on the “Milk and Honey” album. It really pains me to think about how much more great music we likely missed from John because of this senseless murder!
I think he would have had a long and successful- and interesting career.
I think so, too. I also want to believe he would have made up with Julian. It’s always been hard for me to understand how John became such a devoted father to Sean but pretty much completely neglected Julian.
Yoko Ono is the answer.
This is a wonderful song…I like the loose feel of it.
