Everytime I see the bands name Frijid Pink I think – they are from Sweden- but no- a rock band from Detroit. This is a cover of the Elvis Presley classic. Frijid Pink had 3 Hot 100 singles -earlier in 1970 they had their biggest success with a cover of “House Of The Rising Sun” which went to #7 their only Top 40 hit. Elvis had nothing to do with the writing of this song- although he got a songwriting credit.
Can’t beat Elvis’ “Heartbreak Hotel.” That being said, at least Frijid Pink made it their own. And, yes, you’re right, the name does sound Swedish! 🙂
