The Beatles Top 60 Solo Songs: #46: “Listen To What The Man Said”- Wings. This song reminds me in a way of the Paul McCartney written #1 hit for The Beatles “Hello, Goodbye”-not much there lyrically but still an enjoyable listen. “Listen To What The Main Said”- is on Wings 1975 album Venus And Mars. The single went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Dave Mason guests on guitar and the key ingredient to the songs success- is Tom Scott’s contribution on the soprano saxophone. It is a very catchy tune- and #46 on my list!
one of my very favorite post-Beatles Paul songs.
Mine too!
Wings had a lot of good hits and this is one of them.
I am ridiculously fond of this song.
Thanks for this. I haven’t listened to this song for ages.
I loved Wings.
“Band On the Run.” That’s what Wings will be remembered for. McCartney should have stayed solo like in “McCartney and Ram.” Give them a listen.
