- The political leader of East Pakistan’s Awami League- Sheikh Mujibur Rahman threatened to lead a secession of the Bengalis territory from the Punjabis’ West Pakistan if Pakistan’s President Yahya Khan postponed the scheduled December 7 national parliamentary elections.
- A party of hunters in Dixie County, Florida discovered the wreckage of a small airplane and four members of the Redd family of Plymouth, Michigan- the Redd family had vanished two years earlier while flying from Valdosta, Georgia to New Port Richey, Florida.
- In the two NFL Thanksgiving Day games- the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Green Bay Packers 16-3 and the Detroit Lions beat Oakland 28-14.
