“Carolina In My Mind” had been released before James Taylor had a big hit “Fire And Rain” which went to #3- and had failed to make the Top 100- it was re-released after “Fire And Rain” but peaked at #67- which is disappointing- it is one of my favorite James Taylor songs. James Taylor was born in 1948 in Boston. The singer-songwriter-guitarist had 22 Hot 100 singles and 14 Top 40 hits- his biggest being a #1 with “You’ve Got A Friend” in 1971.
good song. Next to ‘Fire and Rain’ I’d say both my favorite of his and probably the most instantly-recognizable.
Some times there’s just no rhyme nor reason as to why some songs are hits and others are not.
