Pierino Como was born in Canonsburg, Pa in 1912. He died in 2001 at the age of 88. He began his career in 1933. From 1954-74 he had 49 Hot 100 hits and 30 Top 40 ones. His 3 #1’s came in the 1950’s “Hot Diggity” 1956, ” Round and Round” 1957 and ‘ Catch A Falling Star” 1958
Even though I was only 16 when this song came out, and preferred the music of CCR, Sly & the Family Stone and the Rolling Stones, I really liked this song.
I agree- a good song.
