The Fifth Dimension was a pop-vocal group from Los Angeles- From 1967-76 they had 30 Hot 100 singles and 20 Top 40 hits- in 1970 alone they placed eight singles in the Hot 100 with this one being their biggest hit of that year.
Not exactly an FM favorite, but still a very poignant song. Marilyn McCoo could flat-out sing.
It’s sort of hokey but I like it nonetheless. A poor R&B song from early 70s beats the ‘best’ R&B – aka rap- song of the last 20 years.
