• The Partridge Family premiered on this evening- on ABC-TV. The show was based on The Cowsills family act. The comedy was about a fictitious family of musicians- only two in the ‘family’ could actually play an instrument or sing- Shirley Jones and her stepson David Cassidy. I like the show- especially the interaction between Danny Partridge {Danny Bonaduce and Reuben Kincaid {Dave Madden} the band’ manager. Of course there was always Susan Dey also one of my first celebrity crushes. The show lasted four seasons 96 episodes.

• Ringo Starr’s second album Beaucoups of Blues was released on this date.
