While “Angie” is credited to Jagger- Richards it was written mostly by Keith Richards. While everyone has assumed over the years that the song was written about David Bowie’s wife Angela- Richards has said in interviews it was written about his daughter-Dandelion Angela.
I love that song and read about it a few days ago in Keith’s book. I’m at 73% now! Yay! I don’t think it has ever taken me this long to read a book! So much to absorb!
Someone checked out Keith’s book at the library yesterday.
For sure one of their best ever songs.
When I was in my early teenage years, I was very much into soft music. While I liked the tune more back then, I still think it’s a pretty good ballad. The Stones didn’t have many. This was definitely their best ballad.
True- odd a Rolling Stones #1 hit- and it’s not a rocker.
