Bob Dylan- born Robert Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota- raised in Hibbing, Minnesota- is not known as a singles artist- although over the years he has had 24 Hot 100 singles with 12 making the Top 40. His biggest hit came in at #2 the magnificent “Like A Rolling Stone” in 1965.
I had never heard this tune before. I find it quite unusual. Sounds like Dylan had run out of words? 🙂
That was from Self Portrait- a mainly covers album- he was in a dry period of writing.
If you think about it, I find it mind boggling how longtime artists like Dylan or Paul McCartney still come up with new songs. The thought if writer’s block must be terrifying for music artists who write their own songs.
I did not recognize the title of this song, but after listening to the first few notes I remembered it.
He was getting ready for the Sam film.
