I love ‘Magic’.
I never understood why the live Coming Up hit so big…more than the studio in some cases.
I always liked the studio version. I bought the 45. The live version just didn’t have the tight construction.
Yep that is me also.
I remember liking the movie Xanadu at that time. Watched it again with my sister two years ago, and we both found it a bit cheesy. We were laughing and could not understand why we loved it so much then. I guess because we were so young.
I have done the same with movies- boy that was a great movie- as a kid and later- what did i see in that..
I’m hearing/reading Star Wars (#2), Xanadu, Urban Cowboy, Six Pack, Jake & Elwood, Fame and Divine Ms. M’s Janis biopic. I loved Xanadu as a teen at 13/14. It’s really bad even with Gene Kelly but, the music was great. I still like Urban Cowboy and that soundtrack, too.
Billy Joel’s Glass Houses was awesome. Elton John was starting to become squishy. The S.O.S. Band reminds me of an ex-boyfriend. Rocky Burnette and Ali Thomson are names I haven’t heard since. I miss Ambrosia on the radio.
Give Me The Night reminds me of my mother. I LOVED Into the Night (original, not remake).
