The Meters- an instrumental R&B group from New Orleans had 7 Hot 100 singles with 2 making the Top 40. Their biggest hit “Cissy Strut” #23 in 1969. They disbanded in 1977 when Art Neville, Aaron Neville, and brothers Charles and Cyril founded The Neville Brothers.
