I can’t think of any song that has ever made me actually cry- but “It Makes No Difference” by The Band is about as sad of a song that I can think of. Written by Robbie Robertson and sung by Rick Danko- “It Makes No Difference” appears on The Band’s 1975 album Northern Lights-Southern Cross album. While it is an outstanding song on its own I do believe its Rick Danko’s singing on this that makes it a classic. The Band a rare band who had three outstanding singers in Danko, Levon Helm and Richard Manuel.
