30 Day Song Challenge- Day 2- A Song That Always Makes You Smile: “Genius Of Love”- The Tom Tom Club. I had read about ‘Genius Of Love” before I actually heard the song. It wasn’t something that the local radio was playing at least early on- the single did gain momentum and made it to #31 on the pop chart. At that point I wasn’t listening much to Top 40 radio. I made it a mission to track down and buy the album and I wasn’t disappointed the song and the album even exceeded my expectations . The Tom Tom Club was a band formed by The Talking Heads husband-wife team of Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. This was their first and most successful album- and “Genius Of Love” their only Top 40 hit. Weymouth and Frantz hadn’t left The Talking Heads- this was a side project at the time. “Genius Of Love” never fails to put a smile on my face and make me feel happy- at least for the four minutes its playing.

Looking over the list for the month- there are some where it may be hard to restrain myself to one- but I will try! The one with all UPPERCASE letters in the title- may be difficult to find one!
