Born Scott Davis in Lubbock, Texas in 1942- Mac Davis is a country -pop singer-songwriter and actor. For some unknown reason he was popular in the 1970’s even having his own variety television series 1974-76. From 1970-81 he had 15 Hot 100 singles with 4 making the Top 40- the biggest going to #1- “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me”- 1972. His greatest accomplishment was writing “In The Ghetto” which was a big hit for The King Elvis Presley. He also wrote “Don’t Cry Daddy” which was a hit for the Big E. On the negative side he wrote the Bobby Goldsboro hit “Watching Scotty Grow.” “Whoever Finds This, I Love You” was his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100.
