This isn’t necessarily my Top 10 favorite albums but 10 albums which influenced my musical taste. The first on the list- Hank Williams’ Greatest Hits was an influence because growing up the first music I was exposed to was the country music my dad liked. Luckily he liked classic country artists- Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Merle Haggard and especially Bill Monroe. Looking back at the music he played it was all great stuff. He wasn’t at all into rock or pop music it was all country. I have wondered at times what if he had liked music that was well – crap. He was in his 20’s at the time what if he had been a fan of say Herman’s Hermits? One thing for sure my dad put me on the road to liking great music.

Absolutely! Did you watch the Ken Burns series on PBS? It was exceptional as per all his work.
Yes I watched it twice in the fall! Excellent. I need to get a copy to watch again. For the most part I think he featured the right artists and told their stories!
Absolutely. We watched each episode at least twice before deleting them from our DVR.

I can’t think of any artist that he was into- that wasn’t great. ..
My old man had much the same tastes. He leaned into the jazz also. Very cool. Lucky for us they werent into that Mr Boone fella.
Imagine folks who had fathers- older siblings who were into bad music- I can’t imagine that. My younger brother and sister both like good stuff- they tell me I was a good influence- musically. One thing I did well!
My older brother was the biggest music influence on me. hands down. All that early British stuff like Cream, Traffic, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall. Then people like Hendrix, Santana. CB’s shtick his he took his life in his hands to sneak listen to that stuff. I’m sure you did at least one other good thing.
