It’s hard to believe David Bowie has been gone now for over 4 years. Here is an article on his final years- when he staged a great comeback after years of relative silence.

I know. I cried the morning he passed and few times since…Blackstar indeed.
I didn’t know about the heart attack a decade earlier. He was a courageous man. I’m glad he got to spend time with his family for a decade before he passed.
He kept things pretty private. I was surprised when he put out The Next Day- I figured he had retired but then again with Bowie you should never have been surprised.
Absolutely fascinating. I love David Bowie. I thought he would go on forever. He never aged.
His death really was a shocker.
Fascinating man.
David Bowie was my favorite artist from the age of 12 right through until today (which, suffice to say, is many years later). When he passed, I felt as though I had lost a family member — and, in many ways, I had. He was like a stepfather for every young person who had ever felt too odd to fit in, letting us know that it was more than just okay to let our freak flags fly. David let us know that it was imperative, and that one day the world would catch up with us.
Very well put!
Yep. Tears again. x
Finally read the full article, and was also surprised to learn he’d had a heart attack back in 2004. I actually shed a few tears when I learned of his death. He was one of a kind, that’s for sure.
His death shocked me also. The only rock and roll death that I recall the world reacting too at a higher level- was John Lennon’s. Bowie meant a lot to a lot of people. It could be a full time job just reading all the books that have been written in the past 4 years about him!!
