“Ticket To Ride” was The Beatles seventh consecutive #1 hit in the United Kingdom- and the 3rd consecutive #1 in the U.S.- Eventually The Beatles would have six consecutive #1 hits – in a 12 month period. The song appears in The Beatles second film “Help!” Released in February 1965- it is certainly a  major change from The Beatles sound of just a year ago when The Beatles conquered America. A big move forward in their evolution. While the song bears the Lennon-McCartney songwriting tag- it was another John Lennon written song. He certainly was the dominate of the two early on in The Beatles. Paul would make up for that at the end. “Ticket To Ride” was the first Beatles song which went past the 3 minute mark.
