“Laughin’ and Clownin” was written and first released by Sam Cooke back in 1963. Van The Man Morrison recorded it a couple of years ago. He had three #1 hits in the early 60’s- “Georgia On My Mind” 1960- “Hit The Road Jack ” 1961 and ” I Can’t Stop Loving You” 1962. Born Ray Charles Robinson in Albany, Georgia- he grew up in Greenville, Florida. He was a member of the illustrious first class inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. Ray died at the age of 73 in 2004 of liver disease.
