• All 57 members of the crew of France’s Marine Nationale submarine Eurydice were killed after the vessel made a practice dive and never resurfaced. The submarine was in 2000 feet deep waters in the Mediterranean Sea off of Cape Camarat after sailing from its base at Saint-Tropez.
