The title track of the movie and soundtrack album- “A Hard Day’s Night” became The Beatles 5th #1 hit in the US in 1964 [one more to go in 1964} Written mostly by John Lennon with a little help from Paul McCartney- the title was inspired by an off the cuff remark Ringo Starr had said- a Ringo-ism. With “A Hard Day’s Night” it was the first time that an artist held down the #1 single and #1 album chart at the same time in both the United States and United Kingdom at the same time- it wouldn’t happen again until Simon and Garfunkel did it in 1970 with “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
One of my favorite Beatles songs.
