I Love The Smell Of Punk In The Morning- “Shot By Both Sides”- Magazine.
The English band Magazine was formed by Howard Devoto- a founding member of The Buzzcocks. Devoto left The Buzzcocks for form Magazine in 1977. “Shot By Both Sides” was a single off of their debut album Real Life. The song was written by Devoto and his bandmate from Buzzcocks Pete Shelley. “Shot By Both Sides” was inspired by political argument that Devoto had with his girlfriend when she said “Oh, you’ll end up shot by both sides.” “Shot By Both Sides” would be the best charting single Magazine had in the UK- reaching #41. In 1978 NMB ranked the single the 9th best for the year.
This one is new to me. I like it!
