Born Autry Dewalt Mixon in Blythesville, Arkansas- Junior Walker was an R&B singer and saxophonist who had 21 Hot 100 singles from 1965-72 with 12 making the Top 40. His biggest hit was his first “Shotgun” #4 in 1965. I am not much of a fan of Foreigner’s but they had a good single or two- maybe their best was “Urgent” in 1981- which featured Junior Walker on saxophone. Walker died of cancer in 1995 at the age of 65.
I like Junior Walker’s song, “What Does it Take?” (not sure if that’s the name of it hoping you know the one). This one’s sax sounds similar to it.
Man does that sound good. I will have to bust out some more Jr and the boys. Good one Hans.
