• STEVE EARLE: EXIT O: 1987: 4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: CD: With his second album Steve Earle was still a country artist- and was nominated for two Grammy’s. With the third album he would change directions -something he has been doing for the past thirty plus years. Highlights- “Nowhere Road”, “The Rain Came Down”, “I Ain’t Ever Satisfied” and “Angry Young Man”- no clunkers on this.

• CHUCK BERRY: ANTHOLOGY: DISC 1 OF 2: This double anthology has all 28 songs from the fantastic “The Great 28” and adds 22 more tracks for a total of 50 great Berry songs. They go in chronological order so disc 1 which I listened to today is the greater of the two. This anthology adds some of Berry’s slower blues oriented work which didn’t appear on The Great 28.
