On September 19, 1960- “The Twist”- Chubby Checker hit #1 for one week. Now 16 months later- “The Twist” due to the popularity of the dance craze of the same name- returned to #1- the same recording. This time it remained at #1 for 2 weeks. This is the only time that one song has had two separate chart runs which went to #1.
